Between the teaching job and the novels, the writing started here. Karen was a career teacher — head of a primary, days packed with curriculum and standards — until a son at 40 changed the plot.

During lockdown she began The Unyoung Mum: parenting stories, spectacular fails, and the honest bits in between. The blog became therapy, a way to write for herself instead of classrooms, and the first step toward commercial women’s fiction.
